Primary Scripture Journal - January 2010

The Friend Magazine included this month an article called Scripture Journal. It's found near the end of the magazine. The Scripture Journal is described as a place where children can feel the power of the scriptures, and watch their testimony grow. Each month, the Friend will contain a scripture and an activity for the children to do in their Scripture Journal. I thought this was such a neat idea. What a better way for our children to grow closer to Christ.

I found some Composition Books for $.20 and covered them. Each month a new insert will be added.

Jennifer,
This is so cute. Are you primary president and Primary chorister? This is amazing!

Or maybe, you are just doing this for your own children in your family? Just wondering if you meant primary children or family members?

My daughter will love this! Thank you for sharing your ideas.

Jennifer, do you keep the journals at church and then have the kids update them there, or are they taking them home? Do you update a new topic with each month?

Hi Ladies...

Thanks for your comments. This idea was presented to the children in our ward on the first Sunday of this month. The children received a paper journal to take home with them. I decided that it was such a neat idea that I would make a special one for my son Braden. I plan to add a new sheet each month after I receive the Friend. Personally, this would be a fun thing to keep at the church in a special bin instead of sending it home with the children. Then, at the end of the year you could present the finished journal to the child to continue year after year with their special messages inside.

Have fun JOURNALING!

Thanks for this wonderful idea! We would like to do a journal for each child at our activity coming up. Does anyone know where to buy the composition notebooks at a discounted price? I found them at Office Depot for .79 cents, but even cheaper than that would definitely help our budget. I love your blog, Jennifer. Thank you for all the cute ideas!!

Hi Wilsons...

I found the composition books at Wal-Mart prior to school starting this past year. I bought several so they wouldn't cost so much. I haven't checked lately, but I would give them a try.

Good Luck with your upcoming Primary activity!!! Sounds like it will be tons of fun!

Sincerely,
Jennifer

Hi Jennifer, you're amazing! I'm from Sao Paulo- Brazil, and I'm loving your blog! I was just called to be the Primary President in my ward, this will be my first Sunday! I'd like to ask you, if you could send me the files for the journal, so I could translate into Portuguese and share with my precious children! Thanks for sharing your talent with us!
