Young Women's Camp 2010 - Fashion "SHOE"

Every year at camp we try to have an OPENING CEREMONIES on the day when all of the campers have arrived at camp.  This year's Opening Ceremony was based on a FASHION "SHOE" highlighting each Young Woman, the Ward they are in, the Young Women Value their Ward is representing at camp, and the SHOE TYPE that each Ward was assigned.  Our YCL'S did a great job planning everything right down to even having some FASHION EMCEE'S.  You'll have to check out their skit below!  We placed a RED CARPET outside of each cabin for the Young Women to walk down and after the girls were introduced each Ward was to share with the group a game, song, dance, activity, craft, etc... that they had planned prior to coming to camp.  We had a good mix of them all.  I think it's time that we should welcome each WARD to CAMP!!!

Let's welcome them now................................................

First up was the CLERMONT WARD representing FAITH and SLIPPERS!

MUSICAL SHOE ACTIVITY

Second was the EUSTIS WARD representing DIVINE NATURE and ICE SKATES!

POEM/STORY ON THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF ICE SKATERS

Third we had the LEESBURG WARD representing INDIVIDUAL WORTH and SNEAKERS!

This is the SCRIPT that our EMCEE'S used in between the Ward's being introduced.

MEGAN AND NIKKI - Our EMCEE'S

Once the FASHION SHOE was over we had one of our YCL'S share a story called the Parable of the Shoe.  This short little story is found in a book that I love called Women of Virtue by Jodi Marie Robinson.  You can find the story on page 135.  The story and the message that was shared by one of our YCL'S was on Virtue and Vanity.  I highly recommend this book to any leader that may be looking for some fun little stories on Virtue to share in lessons or at CAMP!

If you would like a copy of the FASHION SHOE SKIT...please email me directly at jennifer.hawkins@hotmail.com or leave a comment here.  Don't forget your email address!
