Young Women's Activity - Young Women Personal Appearance Tips (SPA Night)

A winning Young Woman is a lady in the finest sense of the word.  She is poised and trained in the social graces.  Her good manners are always evident and she doesn't turn them on and off at her convenience.

This upcoming Saturday...I was asked by my sister, Amy, to come and share a message with the Young Women in her ward about their Personal Appearance.  They have planned a really fun evening prior to the General Young Women Broadcast.  It's going to be a SPA NIGHT.  I put together a little PERSONAL APPEARANCE TIPS BOOKLET with cute little ideas from a book that I read when I was a Young Woman.  That book is called The Winning Young Woman by Lyneve Wilson Kramer and Carole Osborne Cole.  I hope the Young Women will have a relaxing evening with their leaders and mothers.

If you would like the PDF file...please comment here or email me at jennifer.hawkins@hotmail.com.  Please include your email address so I can get them to you quickly.  Thanks!

Really? Really?! I would like to see you try something different. How about you teach ladies to love themselves regardless of how they look or how graceful they are. How about we teach them to serve instead of being hung up about how they look? Just an idea...

This is horrible. I'm sorry, but the fact that you are telling these girls these things, and that so many others have shared it as well, truly hurts my heart. Ogur girls should never be taught that they need make up to look good. At this age especially they should be embracing their natural beauty...and they are beautiful naturally!! I know this post is old but oh how iniwsh you'd delete it.

Absolutely agree. My heart was hurting as well as I read this. So sad. "Few girls look good without make up." How about instead, God made each of us. We are all His children and His creations, you can wear make up if you choose, but know going without it is Perfectly Okay as well. You are beautiful just the way God made you. Make up can be fun to some and they may choose to wear make up. Its your choice. If you do want to wear make up, heres a few resources to help you learn how to use and apply.

@Lola Dahl, thanks for commenting and being more critically thinking. Especially how this "lesson" applies to the gospel. This truly worries me that our girls are getting this lesson or one like it. I was glad to see your comment.. and was getting worried that so many women in the gospel thought this was an Okay message to send to our girls. Incredibly disheartening.
