Primary Music Idea - Nursery Music Scroll

Nursery children love pictures. I thought it might be neat to have some basic photos that the children could see while we sing some of the Nursery Favorites. As the teacher...you can turn the paper to the photo you want them to see or show all of the pictures at once and sing Primary songs that coincide with the picture.

Here are a few songs to consider:

FACE
Smiles - page 267
Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes - page 275
If You're Happy - page 266

HEART
Jesus Said Love Everyone - page 59

STAR
I Am like a Star - page 163

SUN
A Smile Is like the Sunshine - page 267
Jesus Wants Me for a Sunbeam - page 60

SNOWMAN
Falling Snow - page 248
Once There Was a Snowman - page 249

LEAF
In the Leafy Treetops - page 240
It's Autumntime - page 246

FLOWER
Popcorn Popping - page 242
Other Spring Songs

I made the scroll by using empty paper towel holders and butcher paper. I cut out the shapes on my Cricut machine. I've attached to the post the shapes. If you would like them emailed to you...please email me at jennifer.hawkins@hotmail.com.

Happy Singing!

What a darling idea! I'm going to ponder this and figure out how I can adapt to the older kids. Maybe you have already?!

Hi The Children Sing...

Thanks for saying hello! I had the same idea. I too am going to ponder about how I could adapt this idea for the older children. I was thinking of putting on more mature photos. If I create what I have in mind...I will for sure share it with all of you. It's so much fun being the Music Leader. Isn't it?!

Have a fun filled Valentine's Day!

Hi Jennifer, I love this idea. I'm no longer the music leader, but I teach the sunbeams, and they're gonna love this activity. Thanks for sharing your great ideas. Have a great weekend. Hugs, Andi at LDS Creativity Corner

Hi Andi...

Oh boy! Sounds like you are going to have a GREAT year. The Sunbeams are always a cute little group of kids to work with. I think they'll love the scroll. You can do so many neat things with it...including using it for a lesson. I'm sorry to hear that you are no longer the music leader, but you are still in Primary so that has to bring a smile to your face. I love your ideas on LDS Creativity Corner by the way!!! Please keep in touch with me.

Sincerely,
Jennifer
