Primary Music Idea - Camp Thankful Part One

It has been a tradition in our Ward every November to have our CAMP THANKFUL Primary Sunday.  We combine music and sharing time into a fun thanksgiving camp giving thanks for all that we have received within the past year.  This year we are going to be focusing our CAMP THANKFUL on learning a little about Native Americans and Sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  For music time I have made feathers (printed on colored paper) that we will be adding to each child's headband after we sing it on Sunday.  By the end of the singing time they will all have a headband full of feathers that they can wear home and share with their families the following evening during Family Home Evening.  This is a great way to encourge your Primary Children to learn more about service and gratitude this month at home.

I will post more about the Sharing Time portion after Primary tomorrow.  I'm going to take a few pictures so you can see all of the details.  I'll be sure to post them soon so you can bring CAMP THANKFUL to your Primary this month too.

Happy Camping!

If you would like a copy of the feathers that go on the headband...please comment here or email me directly at jennifer.hawkins@hotmail.com.  Please be sure to leave me your email address.  I'm also including some blank feathers in case you decide to choose other service and gratitude songs to sing.

I love the idea. I teach the three year olds, and think this would go so well with the Thanksgiving theme. Sometimes it can be hard for them to understand the message.
