Young Women's Camp 2010 - From My Sole to Your Soul

Each year we strive to do at least one SERVICE PROJECT while at Young Women's Camp.  This year going along with our theme we decided to do a SHOE DRIVE.  Each Ward made a collection box that was placed in their building for collecting the shoes.  Many announcements were made and we sure collected a lot of shoes big and small. 

The Young Women took some time with their leaders during Mutual to research a local charity that could use the shoes they would be collecting.  Shoes will be going to local nursing homes, preschools, outreach centers, etc...

All of the shoes were brought to camp.  While there the Young Women cleaned and polished them and tied the pair together with ribbon in the Young Women Value Colors.  After camp the Young Women will deliver the shoes they collected to the charity they researched.  Our service project will reach far past camp.

We also had a guest speaker come and talk to the Young Women about service.  This particular sister and her family have traveled around the world doing good works for others.  Her stories were amazing!  I always love listening to stories where individuals are helping other individuals.  Much Thanks!
