Music Club - Singing Praises to Him Club

Here it is...my 2010 Primary Music Club!!!

This year the children will be receiving a lanyard with the Singing Praises to Him Club Card attached. As children work on the different CLUB objectives...they can earn pins to place on their lanyard. I hope this will be something the kids really get into this year. You can see the attached pictures and card front/back for all of the fun things they be doing at home and at church to support the Primary Music skills we'll be working on this year!

Hi Jenni...

Thanks for your comment. Glad you like the idea. Let me know what you end up doing. Maybe we can post it for the rest of our friends on Beehive Messages. Have a Happy New Year!

I love this idea. It looks like you purchased a button machine? Or how, exactly, are you making these pins? Where did you find your lanyards? I am doing something like this with my primary srs. and I love your ideas.

I have a thought. It looks like you purchased a button making machine. And you printed clipart for each of your goals. I thought, what if , as each child achieves that goal they get to make their own clipart illustration for their button? I would provide a box of stickers like various number stickers for the AofF goals, and let them make the 2/2 3/4 4/4 drawings on their own. And the bookstore sales lots of stickers that are perfect for them to choose from to stick on their button to go with their goal achieved. I think marking the card as they complete the goal will be a way of keeping track which ones they've passed.
Anyways, I am thinking of ways to make it personal and fit into a budget if necessary.
I love love this idea!

Thank you so so much for taking the time to share BEFORE sunday!

Hi Jennifer,
I love this idea. I was wondering if you purchased the lanyards or if you made them. How long is the lanyard. Where did you purchase the button machine? Would really like to use this challenge.
Thanks so much!!!

Hi Melanie...

Thanks for your comments! I purchased the lanyards at a school supply store here in town. You could make them. They are about 10 inches in length. I'm wondering if you could make them out of thick ribbon. The pin machine is from Badge-A-Minit. Let me know if you have any more questions.

Please keep in touch and let me know how Sunday goes with the kids.

Have fun with the challenge!

Hi Jennifer,

Thanks so much for the info. I purchased a badge machine and badges from the place you suggested. I am going to do a slightly different challenge. I will send you my challenges when I get them finished.
Thank you so much for sharing your great ideas!!! I love your site.
Love,
Melanie

Jennifer, Melanie,
What size of badge maker did you get? There is a 1 1/4 and a 2 1/4 inch button maker.

jennifer, I'm singing the articles of faith songs each week with my seniors. We will do 1 and 2 this month and then one a month thereafter. How are you having them pass that off with you? Is it a group or singularly? That would take a while if each child that wants to pass of had to do it. Can you explain how you are planning to manage aof and the giving of buttons for that.

Jennifer,
I have nearly 175 kids in my primary! Half Jr. & half Sr. Any suggestions on something other than the pins to go with the music club? I love the idea, but it isn't really cost effective with the budget!

Hi Wendi...

Wow! You have a LARGE Primary. Could you go with mini cards that you laminate and then punch a hole in after they complete the task/skill? Or...What about mini clothes pins that are painted that represent the different skills that they could place on the lanyard. Let me know what you decide...it would be fun to share with others. Love that you sent me a message.

All the BEST!
