Change Sides

DESCRIPTION OF GAME:

Players are lined up facing each other in two parallel lines about 30 feet apart. Half of the children are on each line. On signal, all cross to the other line, face the center, and stand at attention. The first group to do this correctly wins a point. Players must be cautioned to use care when passing through the opposite group. They should be spaced well along each line; this allows room for them to move through each group. The loco motor movements should be varied. Commands may start, “Ready – walk!” Skipping, hopping, long steps, sliding, and other forms of locomotion can be specified.

SUPPLIES:

1. Chalk to mark lines
2. Cones

VARIATIONS:

The competition can be by squads, with two squads on each line.
